When you listen to Barack Obama, do you hear William Hurt in Broadcast News?
William Hurt was the pretty boy in Broadcast News that Holly Hunter couldn't help but fall in love William Hurt. He was good looking and silver tongued and a complete moron with no substance or depth.
Albert Brooks was a bright intelligent reporter that died on the air when he got his chance though. Modern America has no room for someone who doesn't look and sound good.
It is pretty easy to see that Obama will easily walk away with any election he will participate in. America is not interested in substance.
While a good portion of America is somewhat educated and will chose Hillary Clinton, John McCain or Barack Obama for substantial reasons, you have to wonder, how many of the young voters which have been so motivated to vote this year see this simply as the next American Idol contest? I'm sure some of them will wonder what number they text their vote into for Obama.
If you polled the younger generation how many watch CNN, The Discovery Channel, & The History Channel or American Idol, Dancing with the Stars & Lost?
The tragedy, though, occurs when Obama is finally in the White House and needs to make a decision. If he is true to his word, one of the first points of order will be to bomb and attack Pakistan for no other reason than he had to sound tough after Hillary Clinton schooled him in debate class. Obama said he'd gladly meet with any evil dictator without any pretense. Hillary Clinton pointed out the obvious-that this was naive and irresponsible. So Obama stuck his finger in the wind and stated he'd launch strikes against al Qaeda in Pakistan-a nuclear power I might add. It doesn't take a high school diploma to know how incompetent this statement was.
Of course being naive and irresponsible is fine as long as you look and sound good doing it, and America texts in their vote for you.
