Election Drama Better than Grey's Anatomy

Yesterday, I blasted "center" America (those who consider themselves as "independents") as the pop culture airheads that can't tear themselves away from MTV long enough to look at the presidential candidates to learn anything more than Barack Obama looks, and sounds, pretty when he babbles like a bubble headed bleach blonde (apologies to Don Henley) promising "change." Never mind what the change will be, or if there will actually be change, but as stated before, it sounds pretty and catchy enough for the nanosecond attention span of today's youth.

If today's youth would take a second to pull themselves away from House, Heroes, and Friends reruns to catch a nanobyte of election coverage, they'd notice there is plenty of Drama in the presidential election.

Today, tragically, a motorcycle officer lost his life while serving in a Hillary Clinton motorcade. With a genuine gesture of class, Clinton suspended her campaign to visit the family of the fallen officer.

Yesterday, the New York Times, continued their practice of yellow journalism claiming sexual scandal and financial misgivings on the part of John McCain. This stuff is better than fiction-too bad it was fiction. The New York Times on several occasions will put a good piece of fiction on the front page while claiming it is fact. H. G. Wells' War of the Worlds radio program fabrication pales in comparison when duping the masses.

And while John McCain was only falsely accused of sexual misconduct, Hillary Clinton has to keep a tight leash on her husband lest he find refuge in a bed populated by some young starry eyed aid. And if the younger generation read the slightest bit of history on Bill Clinton's presidency, they'd discover the high drama a cigar and stained dress could create.

Then there is the cocaine user Barack Obama. He's the cool kid in school who sits in the back of class and lets his coolness, not his accomplishments, take him to the head of the class. Plagiarizing was cool in high school evidently for Obama and it is still cool-besides it is "just words" he is stealing, not thoughts, and it is debatable he has any original thoughts of his own either. He isn't the first president to run on the catchy and cool "change" platform.

Evidently, Michelle Obama (Barack's supposedly intelligent wife), missed all the other "change" platforms (the last in 1992 with Bill Clinton) because she's never been proud of Americans because they could never embrace change until Barack was able to secure a nomination for the US presidency.

Unfortunately, the youth of America will miss a great deal of this drama while watching American Idol.
