Obama's Biggest Lie-So Far

Obama has been running on the "I'll get us out of Iraq," fantasy, and it plays well with the naive and the liberals.

If you read his website, it states, "Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months." Of course, this is complete lunacy. There is some semblance of order in Iraq right now thanks to the "McCain surge," and now we are going to pull the carpet out from underneath the Iraqi people.

If you remember back in 1991 the US was accused of abandoning the Shiites of southern Iraq in their bid to overthrow Saddam Hussein. Now the US will abandon the Iraqi people for a second time. This is not sound foreign policy.

But Obama has a caveat, "He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda." Obama has taken doublespeak to new lows. Exactly how many troops will be required to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda? It is feasible to argue we don't have enough troops in Iraq right now to carry out that mission. So is Obama going to increase troop strength to carry out this mission? Either way, look for the liberals to scream foul when Obama is left with no other choice than to leave a substantial number of troops in Iraq.

"Obama will launch the most aggressive diplomatic effort in recent American history to reach a new compact on the stability of Iraq and the Middle East." If Obama abandons the Iraqi people in their time of need this "aggressive" diplomatic effort will have no teeth or credibility behind it. Obama, and the US, will be the laughingstock of the middle east.

What Obama doesn't understand is that his rock star status with American Idol crazed American's won't translate to people like Ahmadinejad and Sadr. Like most rock stars, Obama has lost touch with reality and been intoxicated with the love fest with is constituency thinking he can do no wrong.
